Last Monday, one of Dublin's most interesting design events took place: Defuse (Design for Use). Defuse is an annual gathering held every November that brings together the local design community for an evening of sharing and learning.
This year's theme was “Reclaiming Design: Taking Back Purpose in an Automated Age.” Twelve of Ireland's top design experts shared their ideas, advice, trends, and inspiration in 5-minute presentations. Due to the tight schedule, not everyone had the chance to take the stage.
One of our Creative Bucket members volunteered at the event, and had the change to work behind the scenes, reconnecting with familiar faces while meeting new people, and learning while outside the office. The energy was fantastic, and the evening flew by.
Defuse is part of Irish Design Week (Nov 17–21), which returns this year with a must-see lineup of events. We strongly recommend checking out their website!
A huge thanks to IxDA Dublin, Service Design Ireland (SDI), DesignBrew, Dublin UX, Deloitte Digital, Context Studio, Fin (Intercom), Frontend.com, The Sugar Club, Irish Design Week, and Design & Crafts Council Ireland for organizing and sponsor such a great event.
