Say hi to the old me

Updated: Dec 20, 2022

The time difference between the old me and the new me is the craziest thing about this sentence, please, do not care about that. So, what should we really care about? I would say with our ability to adapt, after all when we face an adaptive process we also change, right? Adaptations can be something grandiose or something so subtle that we don't even notice when it happened, and you may only notice it when you think about the increase in the price of electric energy while you shower.

Even so, the old me is sitting there in his rocking chair, and sometimes it's good or necessary to pay a visit so you don't forget your own history. In a world with so many stimuli and influencers, it can be difficult to find space on the agenda to reflect on our adaptive strategy and the changes that made us who we are today.

We have something to learn from ourselves and some exercises can help in this process:

  • Write down the main achievements

  • Write down times when you were empathetic with others (not just the ones you like)

  • Write down the good advice you've already given

Time to say goodbye to the old me, see you next time! 👋
